An Alard Model PWS6, six-roll continuous peeler-washer which can be fitted with any combination of brushes and / or abrasive rolls for peeling, brush washing, scrubbing, or finishing of fruits and vegetables such as potatoes, beets, carrots, onions, cucumbers, pickles, apples, oranges and others.

OPERATION:

Raw product is continuously fed to the peeling chamber and subjected to the spinning rolls (abrasive and/or brushes as the case may be). It is important that a sufficient amount of product be kept in the peeling chamber during operation for best results. Lubricating and rinsing action are provided in the chamber by overhead sprays, while the flow of product through the machine is regulated both by the adjustable-opening discharge gate, and the inclination of the machine.

FEATURES:

• 27 inch long by 15 inch wide hopper tapers to a 15 inch by 15 inch in-feed opening in the hinged stainless steel cover.
  
  
• Cover configured to be kept bolted shut for safety.
  
  
• Lubricating and rinsing action are provided in the chamber via a stainless steel water spray pipe header with spray nozzles.
  
  
• Peeled product discharges through a stainless steel discharge gate with a gate which is adjustable so product can be subjected to a longer or shorter peeler /washing exposure. Maximum discharge opening with the gate open as far as it goes, is a "half moon" shape 15 inches wide by 6 inches high.
  
  
• Water, peels and debris drop to a full length stainless steel water catch pan with a 7 inch long by 6 inch wide center bottom water and peel discharge outlet.
  
  
• Capacities vary widely depending on product characteristics, process (peeling, washing, scrubbing), and finish, but 3 tons per hour is a ballpark capacity for a six-roll peeling machine.
  
  
• Unless otherwise specified, stock machines come with six (6) abrasive rolls, each 6 feet long by 6 inches in diameter; but can be set with any combination of abrasive and / or brush rolls to buyer need / specification for stronger or gentler peeling / scrubbing action. 
  
  
  • Brushes come in many materials and grades (e.g. for stiffness), and are available at an added cost relative to abrasive rolls. We generally stock stiff polyester brush rolls, but special orders for buyers with particular grit and/or brush specifications can be expected to require some lead time for acquisition. • Complete with central lubrication cluster for ease of maintenance.
  
  
• Chain / sprocket drive powered by a 5 HP 208/230/460 volt 3 phase 60 cycle constant speed motor.
  
  
• We recommend an optional "soft start" variable speed controller in a gasketed PVC NEMA 4 control box.
