An Olney Model 4 onion trimmer is a continuous semi-automatic onion trimmer for topping and tailing; a tip and butt cutter for trimming the ends off of onions.

OPERATION:

An operator manually places the product in feed fingers which are mounted on an endless chain. These pass through two circular knives that adjust themselves automatically to the different size product, permitting the same amount to be cut off each onion, regardless of size with a minimum of waste. Product may be placed in the feed fingers without regard to which side either the stem or root are facing, as long as they are oriented from side-to-side.

FEATURES:

• Manufacturer rated for 50 to 70 onions per minute.
  
  
• 4 inch diameter clamps suitable for 3 inch to 4.5 inch diameter onions.
  
  
• Cutting blades automatically adjust to size of the product being cut within its size range - reduces waste but assures close trimming of stem & root.
  
  
• 27 inch wide by 55 inch long by 9 inch deep product infeed hopper.
  
  
• 35 inch long loading section.
  
  
• 41 inch infeed height, 25 inch cut onion discharge height.
  
  
• Food grade sanitary stainless steel construction, including frame & shrouding, with bronze onion clamps.
  
  
• Stainless steel control box with start/stop controls and safety interlock system.
  
  
• Two (2) 1/2 HP belt drive washdown motors.
  
  
• 460 volt 3 phase electrical input.
